The Biblical New Birth Part 1.
This series of articles reinterpret the biblical concept of the ‘new birth’ in the light of the detailed descriptions of this process given to us in the Padgett Messages.
According to the Padgett Messages, divine love was offered by God to the first humans who had souls (represented as Adam and Eve in the bible). They decided they didn’t need to go to God to obtain this love but could become God-like through their own efforts. This disobedience triggered the withdrawal of the gift of divine love by God and the fall of mankind into an eventual state of depravity. As mankind very slowly started to develop its spiritual nature over many millennia and climb from its moral low point, God saw that mankind was approaching a state where it had the potential to benefit once again from divine love. This rebestowal of the availability of divine love, during the ministry of Jesus, was foretold by Ezekiel and Jeremiah in the Old Testament.
Ezekiel 36:26-27: ‘I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.’
The heart of our being is our soul. We are being offered a new soul that will be wholly divine in nature as it grows. That which is divine has no impulse to sin, meaning we gradually start to follow all God’s laws as this new soul replaces our original soul. The divine soul has no existence prior to the start of this process.
The Spirit is the Holy Spirit (an instrument of God’s soul rather than a part of any supposed Trinity as falsely claimed in the bible), which is the conveyor of God’s own divine soul essence (divine love), which it implants in our new soul. Divine love is an emanation of God, meaning that part of God thereafter lives in us once we’ve received some of this love. Our original soul was a creation of God, made only in the image of God and, as such, is not divine.
Jeremiah 31:33-34: ‘But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, ‘Know the Lord’, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.’
The divine love that we receive itself contains the divine truth that God wants us to follow. Divine love has the power to remove the darkness in us caused by our sinful behaviour. Over time, as we receive more divine love, we become fully relieved of the penalties for our sins and do not have to face the consequences of the law of compensation.
The whole process of the new birth is poorly explained in the bible and yet many Christians have experienced the great inflow of God’s love simply by earnestly praying to God to change them and remove all their faults and sins.
Jesus’ mission was to announce the availability of God’s divine love, as attested by John.
John 3:5: ‘…no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.’
The water is a reference to the ‘living waters’ of God’s divine love. The Spirit is the Holy Spirit that conveys this love into our souls.
John 1:13: ‘Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.’
This explains that the act of being reborn in God’s love means that part of God is in us, divine love being an emanation arising from God’s own soul. Prior to this point no part of us was divine, as we are merely a creation of God (similar to how an author is not actually ‘in’ the books they create).
The Spirit of God is the active energy of God’s soul, which performs many functions in the running of the universe. The Holy Spirit, also called the Comforter, is a part of the Spirit of God that performs the specific task of conveying God’s divine love into the souls of mankind and spirits who seek this love. The Spirit of Truth is a spirit that manifests the existence of divine love in the soul. Its role is to teach us and guide us into all truth. This Spirit may also show us things to come, within the limits that God’s laws and mankind’s free will allow the future to be known with any certainty.
Jesus became Christ because he was the first to receive divine love into his soul and to manifest its existence. Christ is the quality that came to Jesus after he was fully transformed by divine love. Jesus the man was therefore different to what he became as Jesus Christ. All of us can be anointed by this love and receive ‘Christ in us’, just as Jesus did. The Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit and the Christ Principle are all universally available to us, and each has a distinct role in conveying or manifesting divine love in relation to the soul.
The book, ‘New Birth: Pathway to the Kingdom of God’ by Eva Peck explains in the light of the Padgett Messages what the new birth of the New Testament means and how it can be experienced.
