Becoming A Warrior For God.
The prophets of old in the bible were often true warriors for God in the best sense of that word. We tend to admire them for that. But have you considered what it would be like to be a modern day warrior for God?
It’s not as if there isn’t any need. Everything that could go wrong in the world is going wrong, as we know only too well. We also know the reasons for this dismal state of affairs: turning our backs on God, excessive materialism, and so on. Most of those dear warriors existed before the time of Jesus and so couldn’t have experienced the biblical new birth of their souls in divine love. Nor did they have the help of millions of spirits who have been reborn in God’s love as divine angels in the interim. We have access to both. There is literally nothing they did that we cannot do, and more besides. The question for those who believe in God is: does the prospect of being a warrior appeal enough for you to dive straight in or are you wedded too much to your material lifestyle?
The first point to make is that God looks after those who are faithful servants on earth. We’ll be guided, protected and our needs will be met. As we grow in God’s love, our inner life becomes more meaningful to us than many aspects of the external world that we previously held dear. We shine a divine light that acts as a beacon for those in need. Our increasing faith allows us to use God’s laws to do things that may appear miraculous to others. We can give up our sense of attachment to earthly things without having to live like a hermit in a cave. The fundamentals of our material life may not change much at all.
Nor is it necessary to be able to prophesise like in the olden days. We can all see the trajectory the world is on towards destruction, even without having any divine love in our souls. Some choose not to look at the dire state of the world and not to change – they are the ones who need our help the most.
When we were young we were effectively brainwashed by society into adopting a set of values that precluded any possibility of what I’m saying from becoming reality for pretty much all of us. I’d given up on the bible as containing too many errors. But in the Padgett Messages, I found a re-interpretation of the bible that was more amenable to reason and which was, in fact, dictated to the medium, James Padgett, by those spirits of olden times who are now glorious angels. Eva Peck, in her book, ‘New Birth – Pathway to the Kingdom of God’, gives a wonderful summary of the true way to interpret the bible in the light of these modern revelations.
There are lots of things in the bible that don’t make much sense without this additional knowledge. Why did the apostles talk about being above the law? Why did Jesus talk about resurrection to eternal life when it was common practice even before his coming for prophets to speak to spirits who had survived bodily death? Why does the bible talk about us becoming a ‘new creation’ when we experience the new birth? What was the actual power that fueled the early rise of Christianity, which, for the most part, has clearly been lost in the meantime?
Only by understanding the true role of the Holy Spirit, divine love, the soul, the material mind, divine consciousness, the celestial kingdom and Jesus’ true message of salvation can we become modern day warriors for God. It’s not necessary to be an actual warrior, it’s more of a temperament thing – lots of divine angels are exceedingly meek, while some are more feisty when the need arises, while also being exceedingly loving. I’m not suggesting that we should place ourselves in physical danger – being a prayer warrior is a wonderful way of being of service.
However, in the battle that is raging in the world between darkness and light, bravery is essential for all of us who aspire to do God’s will, so in that sense we do become warriors. The true armour of God is to lose yourself in God’s embrace, thereby receiving God’s divine essence that remakes your soul as a divine soul, resplendent in purity, truth and love. This love is the greatest power that exists. Any sincere prayer for protection will invoke a response but divine love, which is incorruptable and full of God’s power, is the ultimate armour that we can don in our perilous journey through life.
To be a warrior, or not to be a warrior? That is the question.
