Time To Get Over Ourselves?

There’s a rather unkind expression that gets used about people who take themselves too seriously, namely, ‘Get over yourself’. It may also be appropriate to say it to ourselves in a kindly manner when we need to take more responsibility for our circumstances, to stop being a victim and put aside the melodrama of life.

When we receive divine love into our souls, then we start to heal inside and we develop new gifts that can help us cope and thrive in our life on earth. This is a wonderful journey that is full of joy and deep meaning. But if we hold on to outdated views of who we are then we may fail to recognise any new strengths and abilities we acquire. So we should proactively seek to grow into the new version of us that is unfolding every day with every prayer. As an example, we should seek our own guidance from God and God’s angels instead of automatically relying on others on earth who we look up to. This recognises that everyone here is fallible and that the highest guidance needs to reflect our personal circumstances.

Spiritual maturity comes so slowly that we can doubt whether we’ve really changed. Consequently, we indulge our old bad habits because we allow them to feel more real than who we’ve become deep down. There is an alternative to being hoodwinked by our own minds. Divine love, blessings from God and the help of divine beings who we attract to us, along with our own commitment and vigilance, allow us to truly get over ourselves and progress steadily along the path towards the celestial kingdom.

Feeling Empty Inside Is A Hidden Blessing.

One of the many reasons people turn to God is because they feel empty inside. There is a hidden blessing in this because it means a space has already been created that God can fill with love. Those who lead a very full, satisfying material existence often struggle to make room for God in their lives, even though deep down a hole exists inside them also.

The impulse to turn to God comes from our soul, deep inside us. The yearnings of the soul often go unrecognised and unanswered. A lack of love and meaning in our lives is the true underlying cause of these feelings. Deep down we have a primal desire to feel enveloped in God’s love.

Divine love comes into our souls when we pray to God sincerely for it to become part of our being. As our soul fills with love, it utterly transforms us. It reveals within us a new, deeper sense of self that we never knew existed. This is the true foundation of happiness.

Although we may feel an emptiness, since love doesn’t actually take up any space inside us then we can continue to pray for divine love for all eternity, all the while experiencing an ever closer relationship with God.

Resistance to God is built into our minds and the world around us. Finding God is not easy. Those who find their way during the brief period of our earth lives are truly blessed.

Moving Past The Past.

All of us carry psychological baggage from our pasts. What we’ve experienced often distorts our judgement and thoughts in ways that are unhealthy and don’t lead to happiness. Yet, moving past our pasts can be very difficult. The spiritual damage we do to ourselves through negative thinking, whether self-directed or otherwise, is not necessarily something we are aware of or can readily assess. There are a number of examples described in the Padgett Messages of those who thought they had led tolerably good lives on earth, only to find they wake up in considerable darkness when they pass over to the spirit world.

If we’re spiritually inclined, we may feel we’re morally ‘better’ than most others we know and therefore don’t have to worry unduly about our day-to-day behaviour and what conditions may await us after death. It’s easy to avoid looking at who we’ve become. It takes great courage to be truthful with ourselves and fight against our lack of self-awareness.

To combat any complacency and ensure our true happiness, we should consider honestly how God wants us to be. Since God is all loving, then we should try to follow this example literally and become all loving in our attitudes. Praying sincerely for divine love to fill our souls is the single most important thing we can do to progress towards God. Over time, this love will purify and heal us and eradicate much that blights our beings. The second most important thing we can do is to police our minds and avoid habitually indulging in harmful thoughts. God won’t change our thoughts – that’s our responsibility. Rather than reacting instinctively to situations and events as they transpire, it helps to consider for a moment how a great spiritual figure would react in our place. Being angry and wanting instant karma for those who act in ways that we disapprove of, for example, isn’t God’s way. We need to have faith that all of God’s laws are perfect. This makes it easier to detach ourselves from events in our own lives and the wider world. It doesn’t mean we don’t care what happens, just that we acknowledge that reacting instinctively and emotionally may be counterproductive.

Being loving at all times is hard. However, expressing negativity harms us as individuals and fans the negative waves of energy in the world that true spiritual seekers want to neutralise.

God’s Narrative Is What Counts.

We’ve all spent a lifetime hearing about all kinds of  badly behaved prominent people in society. Their litany of dismal headlines and bad examples has provided the backdrop to our lives, an ungodly narrative that, sadly, reflects some darker aspects of human behaviour.

Meanwhile, science has persuaded many to disregard God as mere superstition. Scandals in religious organisations haven’t exactly helped endear people to religion.

So wherever we look around us for inspiration, meaning and role models, we’re often disappointed.

For me, the only narrative that really counts is the faint whisper in my soul, all too easily ignored, that comes from God. God wants to co-create the narrative to our lives with us. A journey through life that is in harmony with our Creator and brings us great joy.

Fortunately, there’s a growing number of lightworkers in the world who want a better, more spiritual world based on love and peace. Their values are so different from the norm that they largely go unrecognised by wider society. What they believe in, which is a better world, isn’t even considered newsworthy.

The highest path to God is to pray to be filled with divine love, which will eventually remake us as divine souls that experience Christ Consciousness. Once we establish ourselves on this path, it’s unlikely we’ll ever turn back. Divine love and our relationship with our Creator then become the living narrative to our existence that we can joyfully engage in forever.

Belief Is Not Enough.

Some who choose a spiritual path are satisfied with merely acquiring a set of beliefs that appeal to their minds. Thereafter, they feel sure that their knowledge of these beliefs will bring them all the benefits they imagine are necessary for their future happiness.

Regardless of whether their specific beliefs are right or wrong, this approach often disregards the necessity for any deep change within one’s being. Leading a moral life and doing God’s work on earth brings its own rewards. But unless there is a deep remaking and rebirth of one’s being in God’s love, then any happiness that is experienced will be limited and not of the kind that God wants us to have. For those who choose to receive God’s divine love, what lies ahead is a magnificent transformation whereby the manufactured reality that we experience through our minds is, over time, entirely replaced by an ever-growing, God-given, divine consciousness. This love brings a profound joy to the soul.

Unfortunately, we have a strong, inbuilt tendency to cling to who we are and what we know. Even after all the suffering we undergo in a human life, it takes courage to be willing to step into a new version of ourselves. It’s easier to adopt spiritual beliefs that give us a safe path forward and don’t challenge our sense of who we are. All who choose this apparently safer path will eventually purify the natural love they were born with and, in time, will enjoy a great deal of contentment.

We are told that only a relatively small part of humanity will ever choose to go beyond the boundaries of perfected natural love. And that, in general, even the great spiritual leaders of the past have never ventured further in all the time that has elapsed since they were on earth. The first and most prominent exception is Jesus, who showed us the way to the highest realms of the afterlife, namely, the celestial kingdom. Only those who are wholly divine can enter these realms. The journey starts with the recognition that we need to be reborn in divine love and thereafter allow our growing soul consciousness to gradually replace that which we are familiar with.

Life Happened To Them, Too.

Recently, I was somewhat surprised and disappointed to see how unloving I can still be at times, despite praying for and receiving divine love for a number of years. What happened to make these negative attitudes so ingrained? The answer is that life happened, just as it did to those I’ve expressed intolerance towards. A life on earth that is far from God’s ideal for all of us.

We need to have compassion for ourselves and others. We rarely consciously set out to be who we become in life. Things happen and we can easily change in ways that are unloving, perhaps in small steps we don’t notice. We’re surrounded by examples of unloving behaviour that aren’t a good influence on us. Even after starting to receive divine love from our Creator, being full of love isn’t likely to be how we feel most of the time.

If we could experience on earth the loving environment we’re told exists in the spirit world, then I doubt we’d ever succumb to negativity in the first place. This is something to reflect on. Why should we let our environment play a detrimental role in determining who we are? The spiritual battleground is between mind and soul, which requires us to persevere in our prayers and be vigilant with regard to our thoughts. We should be a loving example to others and be a friend to all, even those who’ve chosen very different values to us in the precarious journey we all traverse through life.

Don’t Become A Lost Soul.

In the history of the world, the number of beings who have been conscious of what divine love is and conscious of receiving it is altogether negligible compared to the number who have lived. To achieve this experience during one’s earthly life is a blessing beyond measure. It creates the real possibility of progressing to the celestial kingdom within a very short time after entering the spirit world. In the Padgett Messages, Helen Padgett, who appears to have been an exceptional person, was able to enter the celestial kingdom within a year or so of passing into the spirit world.

By contrast, it’s not uncommon for spirits on the path of natural love to spend hundreds or even thousands of years perfecting themselves before entering the highest spirit heavens that sit below the celestial kingdom. Many souls feel lost and directionless when initially confronted with the immensity of the spirit world. Their earth lives have left them ill-equipped to navigate the spirit world. Many are simply happy that their basic needs are being met in a way that they weren’t on earth. Few seem to be in any hurry to experience a spiritual awakening. However, none who read these words and believe in the transformative power of divine love need fear becoming a lost soul.

Nor does seeking our own highest good make the divine path a selfish one. What we do on earth doesn’t go unnoticed by those who are close to us in the spirit world. My parents weren’t religious when on earth. I’ve been told by my celestial guides that they’re now on the divine path as a direct consequence of their interest in my experiences of divine love and through meeting my divine guides. I’m learning that when we aim for the highest, we help not just ourselves but also those closest to us, as well as many unseen spirits who watch our example. At those times when we draw our divine guides close, other spirits on the earth plane of the spirit world are attracted by the light and watch the proceedings. They too, are often benefited.

It’s easy to be dismissive of divine love or to underestimate its impact on our lives. A healthy dose of scepticism certainly seems well founded in relation to worldly affairs in general. But I’ve learnt that it would be a very big mistake to not take everything about divine love very seriously. The journey doesn’t need to involve blind faith. Waymarkers in various forms will pop up in our lives and provide the personal proof we need that we’re on a wonderful path to the celestial kingdom.

Progress On The Divine Path.

How do you recognise the progress you’re making on the divine path? Well, in the earlier stages, you may not see a lot of change, as life will likely continue in much the same way as before.

The experience of receiving divine love varies with the individual. It may be accompanied by a physical sensation. I feel divine love as a distinct cool energy, a bit like having goosebumps but on the inside (if that makes sense), usually in the chest area. I have never heard anyone else make this particular comparison. It may be accompanied by feelings of wellbeing and joy depending on one’s overall condition at the time. This wellbeing is quite unlike anything else I’ve ever experienced – it feels profound and unearthly, as if one has been directly touched by God, which is, in fact, the case. The physical sensation tends to be very short-lived in my experience – perhaps a few seconds or tens of seconds. It can be extended, depending on one’s ability to sustain the emotional feelings that trigger the flow of love. The feelings of wellbeing may persist for some time, depending on factors such as whether mundane earthly demands interfere and cause us to switch back to our normal selves.

Over time, a number of changes will gradually emerge. These may include some or all of the following (not in any particular order). This list is by no means comprehensive and is intended merely to give a sense of some of what to expect.

In their interactions with others, divine love practitioners will become increasingly humble in nature and more discerning of the needs of those they’re talking to.

They generally won’t talk a great deal about themselves and their experiences unless they have a strong feeling that it would be beneficial. Experiences, by their nature, are very personal, and if the audience is not spiritually ready, then they won’t understand and may end up rejecting the speaker. Viewpoints tend to change only slowly with experience rather than as a result of hearing personal anecdotes. Besides, spiritual experiences are a personal gift from God for your benefit alone and may mean little to others, even those closest to you.

To avoid the risk of creating disharmony, practitioners won’t correct you or tell you what mistakes you’re making except in special circumstances. It’s a mistake to point out errors and faults in another if you know that they have no interest in changing. Instead, the practitioner may stay quiet and just pray for that individual and move on. The soul connection that they make with another is what provides the most help.

They develop a heightened ability to be able to communicate with the spirit world and celestial beings in particular.

They become proficient at reading a person’s personality and sometimes know about specific events in a person’s life as soon as they meet them.

They develop an increasingly profound sense of fundamental truths that doesn’t rely on words, thoughts or anything else that comes from the material mind.

They start to lose their sense of personal willfulness and find themselves submitting more readily to God’s will.

God’s love will also awaken a unique combination of gifts in our souls, such as the power of healing, inspired speaking, etc.

The absence of these enhanced abilities doesn’t mean you aren’t making progress. The power of our mind can obscure the state of our soul for a long time. In fact, it’s unlikely we will become fully aware of our internal soul state until after we pass over.

Where you are on the path is less important than simply appreciating divine changes for what they give you. If you persevere, regardless of how you feel day to day, then at some point, you are guaranteed to be able to look back and be amazed at what you’ve achieved.

The Personality Of God.

Together, the various attributes of God, such as love and mercy, don’t constitute the entirety of God’s being any more than our personality defines our being. The idea that God can have a personality is hard for mankind to understand, but we’re assured by the inhabitants of the highest realms of the next world that this is a fact. One that’s very important for us to acknowledge. God does, as an actual fact, see everything we do and know everything we think. Everything is recorded in our own memories and will continue to exist indefinitely until the purpose of the existence of each memory, which is subject to precise laws, is fully served.

When we accept that our thoughts and acts cannot be hidden then we are more likely to act in accordance with God’s laws in order to minimise the suffering that inevitably ensues when we violate those laws. The fact that most of mankind doesn’t believe this to be true makes no difference to the outcome that each will have to face in the fullness of time. We are told that countless millions regret their actions on earth once they pass to the spirit world and realise, too late, what the true consequences are of their casual disregard for God’s laws.

The great truth of God’s personality can only be experienced as an actual truth once one’s soul has been developed to a sufficient extent by divine love and new perceptions arise in the soul that allow God’s form and nature to be perceived. A truth is no less a truth even if no one on earth has progressed sufficiently to realise the facts of the matter.

Leverage All God’s Blessings.

There’s no greater work that we can do on earth at this time than being an active supporter of God’s great plan for the salvation of mankind through divine love. All are equally loved by God but the celestial help that we attract as divine love activists is out of all proportion to our relative unimportance as one individual amongst billions. We’ll be helped in many ways, such as being given healing, protection and guidance.

This was also made clear to James Padgett when he transcribed the words of celestial beings over a century ago, and undertook the vitally important task of bringing Jesus’ true message of redemption through the new birth to mankind. A large army of celestial beings were tasked with helping this process. And it’s still true now when we step onto this path as ambassadors for divine love, ensuring each successive generation continues to be made aware, in an unbroken chain, of the availability of this love. It also reflects the fact that we live at a crucial juncture in the history of humanity, a time when God’s plans for a great reset of mankind’s values is finally upon us.

God needs dedicated representatives on earth for that plan to succeed and the number of those currently on the divine path is relatively small. Thankfully, there’s no conflict between wanting what’s best for us personally and wanting what’s for the highest good of all. But it’s nice to know that by doing God’s work at this crucial time, we are multiplying the help we’ll receive way beyond what we could expect to attract to us in different circumstances. The ramifications of this for those divine love practitioners who stay true to their life plan and purpose will reverberate in their lives way beyond their time on earth. This is an astonishing truth and one that we should dwell on at length when considering how we set priorities in our lives.

We should also feel compassion for those who squander their lives by succumbing to dark thoughts and actions that will cause untold suffering after entering the spirit world, which is the great period of soul expiation. We are told that there are millions of spirits who wish they had known during their earthly lives what they subsequently learned in the spirit world and who would have lived a very different life as a result. This is a case where it’s better to learn from others rather than through our own experience.

The Crystal Fountain Of God’s Love.

There is a hymn called the ‘Crystal Fountain’ that includes the lines: ‘Oh, come to the bright crystal fountain, Its waters, though priceless, are free’.

This hymn may have been inspired by Revelation 22:1, which states: ‘Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God’.

The crystal fountain is a reference to the living waters of God’s divine love that heal us and resurrect our parched soul to eternal life. This happens when we make the decision to pray to God to grant us the mantle of divinity, whereby the divine essence of God’s own great soul gradually remakes our soul as a divine soul, with many of God’s attributes. This is the true meaning of Christ Consciousness.

We exist in a great unseen sea of divine love and can immerse ourselves in it at any time simply by asking sincerely for it to become part of us. The Holy Spirit is God’s instrument that conveys this love into our souls. This is the true path of redemption, causing all darkness in us to be removed. All are deemed worthy of this love by God regardless of how far they may have fallen in the eyes of mankind. There is no such thing as an unpardonable sin. We are told that there are many in the hell realms of the spirit world who wrongly believe they are forever damned to stay in hell because of the false teachings on this matter they heard when on earth.

The availability of divine love is the message of salvation that Jesus came to proclaim to the world. Those who instead rely on the so-called ‘vicarious atonement’ to secure their salvation will be severely disappointed when they cross over to the spirit world and find that nothing inside them has been changed as a result of this particular belief. In the Padgett Messages, Jesus himself makes it clear that his death on the cross was not preordained and that the spilling of his blood does not have the power to cleanse anyone of their sins. Instead, we should believe in the true message of Jesus, which he taught during his ministry on earth, and seek the new birth of the soul through acquiring divine love.

The World Needs To Change.

The fundamental cause of the world’s problems is a lack of love rather than an inherent ignorance of how to solve those problems. That’s why engaging our intellects in relation to a world in crisis is largely pointless – we face a spiritual crisis, not an intellectual one. There simply isn’t a widespread appetite to change the systems we have in place that are responsible for untold damage to the natural world and the exploitation of countless souls who are forced to live in abject poverty. Put simply, there is no shortage of clever people with solutions to our problems should we choose to tackle them, but there is a lack of spiritual maturity in our societies in general and our leaders in particular.

Our celestial teachers tell us that as a result of our intransigence, earth changes will escalate and bring an end to the thoughtless materialism that is responsible for destroying so much in the world. These changes will sweep away much of what mankind has created and cause a major reset in society that will eventually lead to a new way of living that is much more in harmony with God. Meanwhile, God is sending massive waves of positive energies to this earth that will awaken many from their spiritual slumber. It’s inevitable that this period of transition will cause worldwide suffering and destruction. However, God’s intervention will save the world from an even worse fate that would otherwise await us. We should prepare for this breaking storm by seeking a spiritual awakening in God’s divine love. This will allow us to experience inner peace and joy regardless of material circumstances. Instead of turning to God, many who are fearful of change will cling to a ship that is sinking.

As we accrue divine love in our souls, we come into greater harmony with God. We will be guided on how to solve our own and the world’s problems. Helping others who will be lost in a sea of change is of paramount importance. We will automatically shine a divine light into the world as a beacon for all those who are coming to understand the need to turn to God as the suffering in the world grows. The love we emanate from deep inside us influences others far more than anything we can say. We should seek to live in our soul consciousness and be a visible example of the love the world needs.

The truth the world needs to hear in words is simple: we should pray earnestly to God for divine love to infill our souls to ignite a new divine consciousness that will fill us with joy and bring us into harmony with God’s laws. Obeying the divine laws of creation will then allow us to live in a peaceful, loving world of abundance where our actions are in harmony with the natural world around us.
