Spiritual Probation And Soul Expiation.
Our time on earth is the great period of spiritual probation, when we can use our free will fully for good or evil. When we pass over, any negative tendencies we have will be severely constrained in terms of our ability to indulge them by the environment we find ourselves in. Our places of habitation are graded and fixed according to our soul condition so that those who are of a somewhat spiritual disposition are shielded from those from lower realms who would endeavour to harm them.
Our entry to the spirit world marks the start of the great period of soul expiation, when memories of all earthly wrongdoings will at some point resurface and torment us until we remedy the underlying conditions within us that cause us to be out of harmony with God’s laws. This applies to all negative acts that were not fully resolved in terms of the spiritual compensation process while still on earth. Expiation can be achieved either by feeling deep remorse and making amends, or by receiving God’s divine love, which removes the darkness in us that is the fundamental cause of our suffering. The latter is a far faster way of making spiritual progress. Divine love is a great blessing from God that has the potential to minimise any suffering we experience and opens the door to unimaginable bliss.
However, similar to when on earth, many spirits are in love with their own minds and value their independence from God. Besides which, their place of habitation eventually progresses to what we would regard as a wonderful heaven. The promise of an even higher state of being that literally cannot be imagined and where we become ‘as one’ with God (and may appear to lose our independence) is therefore of no interest to most of these spirits. The divine angels who try to encourage them to progress further have to reduce their vibration to make themselves visible to these lower spirits. This means that they are not much different in appearance to those they minister to. Consequently, the lower spirits may just dismiss them as beings like themselves who have different views but know nothing more than they do. Such are the pitfalls of spirit life. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
It should also be recognised that no human or spirit is truly independent of God and all rely on God’s constant existence and inexorable laws for our own wellbeing. Contrary to what some may fear, doing God’s will and at the same time experiencing incredible freedom is the norm for all who choose the divine path. Divine love brings the assurance of immortality since our soul becomes transformed to be of the same substance as God’s soul. Spirits that lack this divine essence cannot be certain of existing for all eternity. What we do in our short earth lives seems to have a disproportionate effect that can determine our future for a very long time to come. May everyone choose wisely.
